Fear

There is no easy way to talk about fear. It’s pretty clear if you are alive you will experience its many varieties, colors, velocities, intensities, and dynamics in your life. It’s in the very air we breathe right now. Change does that.

But rather than say much or discuss mindful techniques for releasing strong emotion (just come to meditation class for that), I made a listening list. I hope you’ll explore and carve out time for experiencing this for yourself. Sound baths, as an example, have become very popular for calming the body for sleep.

This is not the same thing as music you love that makes you smiley or happy, which is always good. What I am suggesting is music or sound that actually changes your body chemistry/brain waves. Your body literally pulses differently when listening to certain kinds of soundscapes. Some are electronically enhanced, some nature made. Keep an open mind.

Find an hour or so just to be with yourself and the sounds. Have a good listening device.

Over the years I have explored sounds, styles, timbres, and rhythms or lack of them from many corners of the earth and what they can do to our bodies and minds. From the beginning of time, nature itself has filled our energetic bodies with vibration that can alter our states both positively and negatively. Let’s go for gentle and calm here.

I can’t wait to hear about your experiences. Please share them.
Happy peaceful listening.
